Find out how to clean your aluminium conservatory. AKENA helps you look after your conservatory. You'll be able to enjoy its comfort for a long time to come.

Regular cleaning is essential to preserve your conservatory

Regular conservatory maintenance is necessary to compensate for the natural ageing process and keep the conservatory looking its best. The best way to keep your conservatory clean is to wash the entire structure regularly withwarm, soapy water (using a soft sponge), followed by a rinse with clean water. We recommend a simple mixture of ‘washing-up liquid and water’, which is particularly suitable because of its degreasing properties.

The conservatory should be cleaned at least twice a year to prevent dirt build-up. This frequency may vary depending on where you live. If you live in an urban environment, by the sea or on a northern exposure, we recommend that you clean your conservatory at least 4 times a year.

Never use harsh detergents, bleach or abrasive pads (steel wool sponges, sandpaper, etc.).

Cleaning the roof

To clean the conservatory roof, use a sponge broom with a telescopic handle.

Regular conservatory cleaning is also recommended for polycarbonate roofs. In shaded areas, polycarbonate can be subject to greening.

From time to time, even a simple rinse with water from a hose outside the conservatory will dilute and remove chemical deposits and other residues that settle in corners and edges. For a perfect result, a wipe-down is essential.

Cleaning windows

To complete the regular cleaning of your conservatory with soapy water, use a microfibre sponge cloth (which does not require glass cleaning products) for daily maintenance: it will respect the environment and the materials.

Avoid using aggressive glass cleaning products or plant or flower care products, both indoors and out.
