How to decorate a conservatory?

Decorating a conservatory depends on the atmosphere you want to create. You won't choose the same style of furniture for an indus conservatory as for one with a classic feel. In the same way, you won't decorate a small conservatory the same way as a larger one.

Flooring is one of the first elements to be chosen, just after the shape and material of the conservatory. Wood is still very popular, both for its appearance and for its insulating properties. You can also opt for vinyl or PVC flooring, which is easy to install and maintain. Their colour and appearance will influence the overall impression of your room.

The furniture you choose will certainly influence your décor. Wood or rattan will create a warmer atmosphere than metal. To create a more bohemian atmosphere, you can put rugs on the floor and cushions both on the floor and on the seats. You could also decide to hang curtains in your conservatory, to filter the light of course, but also to add decorative elements.

Plants have an equally important role to play. Although it's best to decorate your conservatory with plants that appreciate light, there's still plenty of choice so that not all conservatories are alike. You can create a real little urban jungle, transform the wall on the house side into a plant wall, opt for flowering or leafy plants...

And don't forget the lighting to enhance your conservatory. Between spotlights suspended from the ceiling and free-standing lights installed in a corner of the room, you have plenty of other options. LED garlands will add a festive touch to the room, but you could also opt for candles. Why not place an XXL one on the floor? Table-top fireplaces also add a warm touch to the room, and you won't have to watch the flame as much.
