What type of parquet should I choose for my conservatory?
A wooden floor immediately lends a warm ambience to your conservatory. But is parquet suitable for this room, which is sometimes subject to wide variations in temperature? You can opt for parquet flooring in the conservatory, as long as you choose it carefully.
Why wood in the conservatory?
Wood has a lot of charm and is very much in vogue. In a conservatory, you'll appreciate it for its aesthetic appeal, but also for its solidity and elegance.
Carefully treated and maintained, parquet will find its place in the conservatory, even if the room is exposed to damp, especially if you use it as a bathroom. Today's materials are suitable for all everyday situations.

What type of parquet can be laid in a conservatory?
Solid wood flooring is still a firm favourite with conservatory owners. It provides excellent thermal and acousticinsulation, but you have to accept that it moves and changes over time. Only rigorous maintenance will ensure that it retains its original colour. For a lower budget, you can also opt for laminate flooring. However, it will not last as long as solid wood. Floating parquet can also be laid. However, it is preferable to lay a foam underlay and a cork underlay beforehand. Glued-down installation is more stable for conservatories. In all cases, you will need to allow at least 8 mm of expansion around the edges.
Which wood should you choose for your conservatory?
You need a type of wood that responds well to variations in humidity and climate. Exotic woods such as teak, mahogany, roki, merbeau and acacia, which are also suitable for outdoor terraces, will naturally find their place in a conservatory. Natural oak will also make its mark in this area, and has the advantage of being produced locally.
The darker shades will capture the sun's heat and feel warmer under bare feet. Light-coloured woods, on the other hand, will develop a smoother, more even patina, so you won't have colour differences between different boards.
