The 2-post carport is usually lean-to. That is to say, it is fixed to the wall of the house and supported by 2 pillars. This type of carport is very resistant and remains solid over the years.
To install a custom-made 2-post aluminium carport, the manufacturer allows you to choose the length, roof, materials and colour of the structure. It also offers additional equipment for optimal comfort.

What is the length of a 2-post aluminium carport?

The length of the carport determines the number of posts it contains. It must be able to withstand bad weather, gusts of wind and any falling branches. The weight of snow on the roof in winter is also something to take into account. For all these reasons, and in order to secure your car as best as possible, a lean-to carport with two posts will not exceed 5 to 6 metres in length.
This size allows you to park a saloon car.
If you have a small city car, you can create a storage space. Tools, waste bins, compost bins and other outdoor toys will also be protected from the elements!
Small 2-legged lean-to carports are perfect for sheltering your two-wheelers. And if you want to install a standard carport, it is quite possible to add a space to protect your bike next to your car.

What are the different models of aluminium carports?

There are many different shapes and models of carport. Two types of carport are in competition with each other:
- the lean-to carport like the one we have just described;
- the freestanding carport, which is independent.
Although we do not offer this model, there are self-supporting 2-post carports.
These asymmetrical shelters are certainly original and have great design! However, the 2 legs fixed on one side support the full weight of the shelter. The durability of the structure is much less reliable year after year.
If you choose a two-post carport, it is essential that the side parallel to these pillars be fixed to a wall by a fixing beam.
A carport must be able to withstand the many vagaries of the weather and provide your car with all the security required of this type of construction.

What are the advantages of a lean-to with two posts?

A 2-post lean-to carport has many advantages. The first is the speed of its construction. There is no need to build walls or break down existing walls. The wall carport is fixed to the front of an existing building and can be installed in a few days!
Other advantages of a 2-foot carport:
