The glass-roofed pergola
The glass pergola by Akena protects your terrace and enlarges your living space for entertaining guests, family and friends. It is 100% custom-made and completely waterproof. It protects you from rain and bad weather while maintaining full light on your terrace thanks to the glass roof.
The structure of the glass roof pergola is made of high-quality powder-coated aluminium. It is perfectly designed to support the weight of the glass panels on the roof.
To block or regulate the light that passes through the glass roof, AKENA offers a range of protective solutions: rolax, variosun, sageglass, etc.

What options are available for decorating a glassed-in pergola?
-
Numerous options are available for the equipment of your glass-roofed pergola. Integrated lighting, motorised blinds, sliding glass panels, fixed or sliding privacy screens can be added to the front of your pergola.
-
What are the alternatives to the glass-roofed pergola?
-
The glass-roofed pergola has many advantages, including allowing maximum light to pass under the pergola. On the other hand, it suffers from a few disadvantages that the Akena design office has worked on:
- The weight of its glass spans means that it is not possible to cater for all roof dimensions, the polycarbonate alternative on certain pergolas addresses this issue to create a ‘sliding glass pergola’. Consider the AIR BIO 365 pergola, which combines transparency, openness and protection.
- The cost of a glass roof is also higher than a polycarbonate roof,
- Blackout solutions must be planned for so that the light it provides does not become too much of a heat source in summer. Akena offers blinds or shutters that will perfectly meet blackout requirements.
