Protection provided by the lean-to bioclimatic aluminium pergola
A model for enjoying the good weather in peace
The bioclimatic aluminium lean-to pergola allows you to enjoy the good weather while being protected from the sun and the heat. This pergolated model not only allows you to stay in the shade, but is also designed to provide effective protection against the sometimes stifling summer atmosphere. Thanks to its thermal properties, it naturally regulates the indoor ambient temperature, providing you with a comfortable and breathable space.
Shelter from rain and bad weather
The bioclimatic pergola also protects you from the elements, thanks in particular to its adjustable slats (from 0 to 135°) which can be closed to create a protective barrier. Its design provides effective defence against wind and rain. It also allows air to circulate properly, avoiding humidity and the stresses associated with water infiltration.

An attractive and hard-wearing space
Durable and solid materials
The design of these bioclimatic pergolas makes them more solid while adding a touch of modernity to your exterior. Made of aluminium, they are created to withstand difficult weather conditions and corrosion, making them a long-lasting investment. They are also installed against an existing wall, which makes them more robust and perfectly stable. The materials also have the advantage of being easy to maintain, and offer numerous equipment options.
An aesthetic model for your home
With its modern style, your home will benefit from a design and aesthetic extension that will bring a real touch of class to your home. The PROTECT technology offered by Akena also provides an innovative solution for bioclimatic pergolas. It allows light to enter even when the slats are closed, thus avoiding darkening your home. This ensures that you can enjoy a bright space. In addition, PROTECT can also be fitted with an opaque infill to hide unsightly roof overhangs.

Why choose an aluminium bioclimatic pergola?
-
The aluminium bioclimatic pergola is the ideal choice for creating a modern, ecological and functional outdoor space. It combines aesthetics and practicality while allowing you to enjoy the benefits of the outdoors, whatever the season. This environmentally friendly solution fits harmoniously into any type of garden or terrace.
An alternative to the wooden pergola
Although it offers refreshing shade on summer days, the wooden pergola can have some disadvantages such as the lack of waterproofing of its materials, its regular maintenance which can sometimes be a chore, and the reduction of natural light entering the rooms of the house.
Conversely, the aluminium bioclimatic pergola effectively protects you from the sun and bad weather thanks to its half-open slats and its design made of perfectly waterproof materials. The latter requires little maintenance and can be enjoyed all year round, even in cool weather or in the middle of winter. You can also customise its design and manage the sunlight inside your house by adjusting the orientation of its slats.
Aesthetic and functional advantages
The bioclimatic pergola is the favourite of the French because it offers multiple advantages for your home:
- the possibility of enjoying the sun and shade at the same time;
- its practical installation next to a house or an existing building;
- protection against wind, rain and bad weather;
- its aesthetic appearance and its durable quality materials;
- natural temperature regulation.

How to install and maintain your pergola?
-
Install and maintain your pergola correctly to ensure its longevity. Choose a sturdy location, follow the installation instructions and clean it regularly with soapy water. Check the fixings and repair any damage quickly. This way, your pergola will remain beautiful and functional for many years.
Installation of your pergola
Your back-to-back bioclimatic pergola can be installed on a terrace or against the outside wall of a house or existing building. However, it is not suitable for all types of space, especially if they are very small. Furthermore, although the installation of this structure may seem simple, it often requires the help of a professional. Don't hesitate to ask our experts for advice!
Maintenance of your pergola
One of the advantages of this pergola is that it requires very little maintenance. However, here are a few tips on how to take care of it and keep it in good condition for as long as possible:
- Clean it regularly: it is important to clean your pergola regularly. Carry out this maintenance work at least twice a year (once in spring and once in autumn).
- Remove leaves and twigs that would prevent normal water collection and drainage through the posts.
- Use a soft cloth and soapy water to wash the slats and canvas in the presence of closing blinds. Avoid using abrasive products that could damage the structure.
- Rinse with clean water using a moderate-flow garden hose.
- Inspect the fasteners: make sure that the fasteners on the slats and uprights are tight and that no parts are missing.
- Check the motorised system: if you opt for a motorised bioclimatic pergola, check the system regularly and make sure that the slats open and close without any problems.
-
How much does this pergola model cost?
-
The cost of this model is generally calculated per square metre, and can fluctuate more or less depending on the materials and equipment used. The price of installing a two-legged bioclimatic aluminium pergola varies from around €500 to €1000 per square metre. You can discuss your project and ask our professionals for a quotation to get all the information you need!
