Conservatory blinds are essential for protecting you from the sun and giving you maximum privacy. A wide range of protective solutions are available to give you a cosy, warm conservatory in which you can relax and unwind.

Protecting yourself from the sun with wall blinds

Your first choice when it comes to conservatory awnings? Wall-mounted equipment to be fitted in front of or behind the glass roofs of your home extension.

Roller shutters

If you want to be able to let in the sun's rays effortlessly, opt for electric roller shutters integrated into the front of your conservatory.

The adjustable sun breaker is also an interesting option. You can change the light levels as the hours go by, adjusting the slats as you wish.

You can also choose lighter, hand-operated accessories such as solid blinds that roll smoothly down the fronts of your conservatory or a PVC vertical slat blind.

Roof shading systems for protection from above

At Akena, we offer two main conservatory awning systems.

An external roof awning that can be installed after the construction of your house extension. This awning rejects UV rays while guaranteeing optimal freshness and well-being during the hottest hours of the day. The equipment slides smoothly and closes harmoniously on your roof.

2nd solution? The interior roof awning. This is fitted under the glass roof to keep out the heat in winter and reduce the glare of the sun in summer.

The whole system is easy to operate using a remote control, making it simple to open and close your roof blinds.

What type of curtain for a conservatory?

A made-to-measure choice for optimum comfort

The choice of curtains for your conservatory is crucial to creating a space that is both attractive and functional. A number of factors need to be taken into account, such as the orientation of your conservatory, light and privacy management, and your style preferences.

Orientation: a determining factor

  • South-facing conservatory : Choose blackout curtains to limit excessive sunlight and keep the temperature pleasant.
  • North- or west-facing conservatory : Curtains or screens are all you need to filter the light while letting in the natural light.

If you opt for thermal insulation and want to preserve your privacy :

  • Blackout curtains: lined with a thermal lining, they offer optimum insulation against heat and cold, perfect for rooms exposed to the sun.
  • Sheer curtains: in linen or cotton, they add a touch of lightness and provide a degree of privacy while still letting light through.

If you prefer to opt for a more aesthetic and personalised approach :

  • Californian blinds: practical and adjustable, they allow you to control light precisely and adapt to all styles.
  • Rods and eyelets: Choose elegant rods and curtains with eyelets for a neat finish.
