How do you clad the wall of a conservatory?
The conservatory wall is just as much a space to decorate as the rest of the room. All too often it is left bare, usually for lack of inspiration. Think of it more as a blank canvas, on which you can imagine a wide range of atmospheres. Discover our tips for decorating this part of your conservatory.
How can you decorate the wall of your conservatory with plants?
Since the conservatory overlooks the garden, think of it as a transitional space to the outdoors. And bring plants inside. The wall is also an excellent place to display them. You can hang them at different heights all along the wall. The famous macramé hangers are back in fashion, but there are many other ways of hanging flower pots. The current trend is to opt for tillandsias, plants that don't need soil to survive. They'll thrive in this environment and add greenery to your conservatory. Some even flower in winter.
Another option is to create a real green wall. Either with plant frames, or from floor to ceiling. There are various techniques, some of which you can install yourself.
Finally, if you don't have a green thumb, there's nothing to stop you painting plants directly on the wall!

How do I add colour to the conservatory wall?

Very often, the wall of a conservatory is white, or the same colour as the outside of the house. This can look a little drab. Although light colours are best for keeping the light in, add touches of colour with dashes of paint. You don't have to paint the whole wall (although you could do that too), but a few lines will be enough to liven up the room. And if you're inspired, you can paint an entire room.

Another solution is to clad the front wall in stone cladding or panelling to create a more natural, cottage effect in the conservatory. You can also hang a few colourful decorative objects. Pretty plates, embroidery hoops, a mirror, children's drawings, illuminated lettering, homemade tapestries, small shelves with frames... There's plenty to choose from.
To achieve a harmonious effect, try to repeat the main colours in other areas of the conservatory: cushions, carpets, flower pots, etc. Remember also to continue in the same spirit as the rest of the house or, at the very least, the room adjoining the conservatory.

Depending on the room you are creating in your conservatory, you may simply need to place some furniture (bookshelves, china cabinets, shelves, etc.) against this wall. Which is already a way of dressing it up. A pretty wall light could also find its place there. And don't forget that even light switches are looking pretty these days.
Choose beautiful materials and objects that you like, and dress up the wall of your conservatory as you would indoors. It's the only one that will be able to take on decorative elements or colour, so make the most of it!
How can I customise the conservatory wall?
Do you want your conservatory to be just like you? It's an extension of your home, and therefore also of you. So don't hesitate to hang portraits, family photos or even photos of your travels. Use this space to display the things that inspire you or the people you care about. For photos, beware of direct light, which could tarnish them over time. You can turn to colour posters. In principle, their printing processes will enable them to withstand the glare of light. It's time to display your favourite inspirational messages!
