A lean-to carport is a carport mounted against the facade or wall of the house. It is installed on two or three posts positioned at the front of the structure and screwed to the ground on concrete blocks.

Our tip: As an option, we also offer an LED floodlight with a motion detector. Simple and intelligent, it turns on as soon as it detects you approaching.

As its name suggests, an attached carport is built against the facade of the house. A freestanding carport (also called an island carport) is independent.
Features of an lean-to carport
A wall-mounted carport is supported by a beam fixed to the facade of a house and at least two posts on the opposite side.
It has the advantage of being installed close to the house, which increases protection:
- the car's protection from the elements is enhanced by the wall;
- your protection and that of your family is improved by reducing the distance between your house and the carport. This distance can be eliminated if you create direct access from your home.
Features of an lean-to carport
A freestanding or island carport is independent. Thanks to its four posts supporting the roof, it doesn't need to be attached to a wall. The larger the carport, the more posts it will have. The same applies to an attached carport.
A freestanding carport can be installed wherever you like. You won't be hindered by a wall when maneuvering. However, the large openings allow wind to rush under the carport, bringing in dead leaves and other plant debris. This can be mitigated by installing side screens.

What shape will the roof of your lean-to carport be?

Carports with pitched roofs are available, such as our covered carport. The aluminum covered carport facilitates the drainage of rainwater and snow. It is 100% watertight and adapts to your needs and, above all, to existing structures!
The attached carport with a flat roof, on the other hand, is perfectly suited to sunny regions. However, it adapts to all types of climates because rainwater drains away at the base of the posts via the perimeter gutter.

What materials are available on the carport market?

Whether prefabricated or custom-built, modern carports typically have structures made of wood or aluminum. Lean-to carports made of iron or PVC are becoming increasingly rare.
We primarily offer carports made of powder-coated aluminum, as it's the easiest material to maintain. Furthermore, it's robust, strong, and durable. It blends seamlessly into your outdoor environment, thanks to its aesthetically pleasing curves and the wide range of colors available.

What roofing materials are suitable for a lean-to carport?

Modern carports benefit from new technologies. These days, users expect more than just protection from the elements!
Roofs also offer protection against UV rays and heat. They also provide acoustic and thermal reduction thanks to improved insulation.
Here are some roofing materials that might appeal to you:
- polycarbonate is a cellular material that allows light to pass through. It is treated to be UV and anti-yellowing. A "solar control" option is available to increase protection efficiency;
- laminated glass brings natural light into the carport. Impact-resistant, it protects your car in case of falling branches;
- insulated panels or sandwich panels are a foam material that blocks solar radiation. This insulating roof protects your car from the heat, and a reinforced acoustic insulation option is available.
