How to motorise a pergola?
Motorised pergolas allow you to make the most of your relaxation area and provide optimum comfort for your outdoor space. Modern pergolas are motorised. Most of them are also connected! Whatever equipment you have installed on your pergola, you can motorise it. You can also choose to add options over time to enhance your well-being.
Why motorise your pergola?
Whether bioclimatic or traditional, adding a motor to your pergola will greatly enhance its comfort.
In the case of a bioclimatic pergola, you can choose to motorise the roof slats. But you can also add state-of-the-art motorised options or motorise those already installed. These include vertical awnings and sunbreakers.
To make the most of your outdoor space under your bioclimatic pergola, don't worry about the weather! From the comfort of your relaxation area, you can pull out your remote control at the slightest change in the weather, or when the sun turns. Open, close or tilt the slats as you please, without having to get up!
As for additional equipment, motorising it will protect you from the sun all day long. Adding motorised side awnings to the sides of your pergola will give you greater comfort and privacy. Neighbours will no longer be prying eyes, and you'll be able to lower the blinds in the later hours of the day, when the sun is low and glaring.

To motorise your pergola professionally, it's best to call in a specialist or contact your builder. However, if you're an experienced DIY enthusiast, you can automate your pergola by purchasing the appropriate parts.
Be careful, it's not just a question of dismantling the equipment, fitting a motor and then reassembling it. Motorisation also involves electricity!
Here's a non-exhaustive list of the equipment you'll need to modernise your pergola:

As well as being motorised, more and more pergolas are automated. Connected pergola, intelligent pergola, call it what you will, but you can be sure of one thing: it's the ultimate in comfort!
Weather sensors activate the adjustable slats of the bioclimatic pergola at the first drop of rain. The LED lighting comes on at dusk. The misting systems come on to cool the stifling heat. The roller shutters open and close automatically at a time of your choosing. And the heating system regulates the temperature as you move around!
